“Capture Your Moment” Photo Symposium Reception Dinner
As gold level sponsors of the Arizona Highways Photo Symposium event, Artisan Colour had a chance to attend the Gala dinner at the Black Canyon Conference Center in Phoenix Arizona. In grand display, staff, volunteers, and contributors were recognized for three decades of photographic excellence.
People shared their vision, passion and commitment to the continued promotion of our beautiful state via Arizona Highways magazine, a recent winner of 16 medals at the International Regional Magazine Association (IRMA) awards dinner.
The dedication and drive for excellence in this group of amateurs and professionals was rivaled only by the performance of a world champion Navajo Hoop dancing group. Since the group has been working with tribal leaders for many years and highlights some of the most famous destinations in Arizona, it was apropos for the group to participate in this event and share their culture and commitment of cherishing the natural beauty around us.
Photo Expo & Workshops Commence
Saturday, the action really started with Keynote Speaker & Pulitzer Prize winner, Jack Dykinga and Presenter Joel Grimes! With a vast number of activities and classes to inspire all who attended, such as: Portfolio review, lighting workshops, wildlife and macro photography, and presentations of the latest gear & equipment. Attendants had no shortage of what to choose to make them better at their craft.
Between breaks, over 200 participants met and mingled in the Lobby where we had the chance to display many of our products and print solutions. The meet-and-mingle also afforded us the opportunity to describe, in detail, how an amazing digital image can be transformed into a beautiful work of art.
Artisan Colour Discovery
People from all over the country had the opportunity to learn about our level of craftsmanship, including the care and passion that goes into each and every product we make. Many were delighted to learn that we are a local, Scottsdale based company, while some didn’t even know a place like Artisan Colour, Inc. existed in Arizona.
Lots of people asked to book appointments for a shop tour and some volunteers and association leaders even discussed the possibility of accommodating tours of 40+ members! We look forward to seeing each and every one of them.
A Photo Finish
Sunday, the final day of the event, was just as heavily attended as Saturday with Keynote Speaker, Guy Tal and Presenter & renowned photographer Alan Ross. We were also able to witness the award ceremony of the Raffle Prize winners. Artisan Colour, Inc. / ArtisanHD.com donated a $425.00 custom, dual-layer print.
While hundreds and hundreds of tickets were sold to benefit the organization, only one winner walked away with our piece. Suzanne Mathia, a long time instructor and volunteer, was the lucky winner. The only challenge she now faces is which ONE image to print, out of the thousands of amazing captures she took over the span of her career! I’m sure, whatever the selection, that she’ll love the final product. We are honored to be part of that experience.
Photographers & Artists Come Together
WHAT A WEEKEND! Local partnerships like this are just a small part of how we support a growing community of photographers and artists and we are incredibly pleased to be associated with such a fine organization. Our thanks go out to all of the volunteers and staff members who worked tirelessly for over 2 years to make this event a realty. BRAVO!
