Dibond® white aluminum encapsulation offers complete protection and rigidity, with a professional finish.
Our 1/8” (3 mm) aluminum Dibond® encapsulation backer consists of a black polyethylene core between 2 aluminum sheets, powder-coated white. This commercial-rated, triple-layered composite material ensures stability and adds protection to your print, all while maintaining a low weight. Ideal for Pro Level, gallery quality presentations in any format.
3mm Sintra encapsulation offers high quality, modern prints that are ready to hang in an art gallery, home, or office.
Using 1/8” (3mm) Sintra solid core PVC board as a backer affords the same protection and professional look as Dibond®, but at a lower price point. This product is even lighter than Dibond®, and a fantastic choice for large panoramic pieces where weight may become an issue. You also get to choose between black or white, depending on the edge style you prefer.
Opaque White Vinyl is our most basic encapsulation option, when you want extremely lightweight protection.

Our order came earlier than expected which was great because it was for an event and I ordered late. As I pulled each piece out, I was in awe! Ordered online 14 x 10 upscaled and edited landscape iPhone pics on 1/2 foam board backing, product is excellent. Packaging for shipment is “serious” and product arrived in perfect condition. Start to finish was a good experience, I will be ordering larger prints from digital camera files.

“It was difficult to know what to expect from this expensive order, but now that I’ve received the two canvases, I can say their online ordering system and its customization options are wonderfully done to support online ordering! A few places could use more tips and examples, but the absolutely most important one—Quality—was perfectly well estimated. The quality is great! The colors are vibrant and remarkable, truly showing the stunning sunsets we captured.
I did minor enhancements in Photoshop ahead of time to ensure ArtisanHD was working from the crispest image, sharpest colors, and solid contrasts on the low light areas of the sunset landscape; I noticed someone else saying they lost details—increasing contrast and levels in a photo editing program may help. I was shocked to find so much detail in the canvases that I realized I hadn’t even noticed some of it before!
We’re thrilled, and we’ll definitely be coming back for more! Given the quality, the prices are truly excellent and the time frame is completely reasonable. Packaging was also great. Highly recommend!”

I did a lot of research and tried other print labs trying to get that “Peter Lik” look.
In effort to do JUST THAT, I researched what I could about Peter Lik, YouTube video’s, blogs, etc. and it came down to encapsulation and a quality HD archival grade paper.
I found ArtisanHD based on that word encapsulation and I uploaded a shot, had it printed, got the shot back and WOW… an absolute WOW.
Had I not taken the shot myself, I could have pulled it off as a “Professional Photographer”. ;-)
Anyway.. the ingredients are easy.

A good backing (I use 3mm black)

My wife and I happened to come across a gallery in Las Vegas that showcased some incredibly vivid photographs by a certain artist. The photos on display looked as if they were back-lit, however it turns out they weren’t. I spoke to the gentleman at the store and he said they were printed using a special process involving Fuji Flex and Acrylic. So as soon as I got home I searched the net for ways to print some of my own photographs using the same process. That is when I came across Artisan HD. I sent them one of my photos and got the Fuji Flex with the 1/4″ Acrylic Encapsulation to the Dibond (white). It arrived today and it looks absolutely STUNNING! Crazy thing is that the photo looks a lot better than it did on my own computer! Must be some kind of magic they do in the printing process. Even though I do not have the same lighting fixtures they had in the gallery, it still looks great even with normal household lighting.
The turn-around time was great as well. I placed my order on the 9th and it arrived today on the 20th. So just under two weeks.
I highly recommend Artisan HD and I can’t wait to send them some more of my best photographs for printing.
